I'm a Celtic polytheist witch, a dowser, a seer and an enthusiastic sacred site traveler. I work with altered states, seership, divination, ancestor veneration, folkloric faery tradition, and have working relationships with several Celtic deities. I grew up in New England, currently live in Oregon, and am a hereditary witch who grew up in a different but wonderful tradition.
In the mid-1990s I co-founded the Strand by Strand Collective, Portland's first public ritual group in the Reclaiming Tradition. I trained and taught in the Reclaiming Tradition for many years, including years in a teaching collective, and various circles, covens, and magical activism groups. I am a member of a circle in Portland, and teach workshops and lead events locally. Events I've coordinated include an international death conference for Celtic polytheists called "In the Roundhouse of the Ancestors," in 2021, workshops on how to start or join a witchcraft group, and various social gatherings to help witches find one another. I am offering more teaching in the summer and fall of 2023.
Thanks to everyone who attended the Witches’ March for Body Sovereignty last weekend. We formed some new connections, and stepped out of our despair into a place of action!
The most common question I receive is from witches who are trying to figure out how to form or join a circle or coven. Many don’t feel knowledgeable enough to get started, but long for a group for rituals and study. I’m offering a summer, outdoor workshop to help. Please see more information on the Events page. Thanks for stopping by.
For several months, I’ve been working and planning with two other witches to organize a conference that I’ve been dreaming of for a few years: a death conference. Several summers ago, during the last iteration of Many Gods West in Olympia, Washington, I attended a deeply moving workshop about preparing polytheists to carry out death rituals. The presenter shared a story about a member of their own group who crossed into death with their help. Just a few years ago, at PantheaCon (the second to last one–can you spot a theme?), Selena Fox of Circle Sanctuary offered a gathering in one of the hospitality suites on behalf of Amici Mortem, or Friends of Death. There were a surprising number of young people there, and we learned from Selena about green burial options, body composting, and how to make preparations for the quality of death we might want to have.
